80g of butter (1/3 cup or 5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon)
2 Tbs of sunflower oil
Salt & pepper
Instructions
Peel and slice the onions and the apples
Melt the onion for 10 minutes in the saucepan with 20g (or ¼ th of the) butter, season with salt and pepper.
Add the apples slices and cook for another 10 minutes over low heat.
Cut the Comté cheese into thin slices.
Spread the onion and apple compote over 4 slices of bread, place the cheese slices on top, cover with the 4 other slices of bread, press lightly on top.
Melt the remaining butter with the oil in a large frying pan.
Place the sandwiches in the pan, brown for 3-4 minutes on each side over medium heat until they are nicely browned.
